Pediatric DentistryLooking for Help With Pediatric Dentistry?

As a parent, it’s your job to keep your children healthy and happy. Pediatric dentistry plays an important role. When your child’s mouth is healthy, it’s less painful too. And when their smile is bright, teasing is less likely.

Read on to find out what kind of help your child may need, and learn more about how to find the right expert.

When Will You Need Pediatric Dentistry?

Your child’s first teeth will poke through when your baby is between 8 and 12 months old. Slowly, all the other pearly whites will poke through the gums until your child shows a full set of teeth on a smile.

Your first pediatric dentistry appointment should happen within six months of the appearance of that first tooth. During that first visit, your child’s dentist will:

  • Educate. You’ll learn how to brush baby’s teeth, and you’ll find out what products are safe to use.
  • Clean. Your doctor will look over your baby’s mouth and point out signs of problems, if they appear.
  • Answer. You may have questions about how your child’s smile is developing, and your dentist can help address them.

At Miller Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we take these visits very seriously. Our office is designed to help our small patients feel comfortable, but our team is clinically trained to address any problems that appear.

When Will You Need Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics?

Many children have spacing, crowding and sometimes crooked teeth. When adult teeth appear, these issues often fade. But some children do need more help than pediatric dentistry can provide.

Most children need a pediatric dentistry and orthodontics appointment prior to age 7. A doctor can examine the smile, and sometimes, early solutions can reduce the need for later appliances, including braces.

In our office, we’re happy to offer orthodontic evaluations. And should your child need braces, we can tackle that in our office too.
