Different types of X-rays
Depending on what the dentist diagnose, they can refer your children to take different types of X-rays:
- Intraoral X-rays- Image produced from inside the mouth.
- Extraoral X-rays- Image taken outside the mouth
- Panoramic radiography- Overall condition of the mouth in a single image
- Orthodontic X-rays- Images that would show an entire side of your child’s head, along with jaws.
The pediatric dentist would first examine the conditions of your child’s teeth and then would refer to the required X-ray. Lastly, do note that digital x-ray in no ways is harmful to the health of your children.
